Michael A. Aspan, D.V.M. Dr. Michael Aspan joined the staff of Hartland Animal Hospital in 1997. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, and became the sole owner of Hartland Animal Hospital in July of 2004. Dr. Aspan enjoys working with pets and their owners to provide quality health care and strengthen the relationships that enrich their lives. His special interests include cardiology and pain management. His personal interests include playing a variety of musical instruments, downhill skiing and motorcycle touring. |

Maureen Shaughnessy, D.V.M. Dr. Shaughnessy first became a part of the Hartland Animal Hospital in October of 1979 when she served a three month internship to complete her Associate Veterinary Technician degree. She then attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary medicine in 1988. She returned to Hartland Animal Hospital in March of 1990 where she enjoyed a successful six-year tenure. After her departure, she continued to expand her range of experience serving as a Relief Veterinarian at a number of practices. Working in this capacity allowed time to pursue her passion of training, showing and breeding her champion Golden Retrievers. We welcome Dr. Shaughnessy back to the clinic as of May 2006.

Wanda Office Manager Wanda started as a receptionist in August of 2004. She was promoted to Administrative Assistant, and then to Office Manager. When she is not in the office, you can find her attending a seminar or attending a WVPMA (Wisconsin Veterinary Practice Managers Association) meeting. Wanda shares her home with her husband, son, two dogs, Auggie and Ellie, and three cats, Bailey, Cody and Daisy. |

Dawn Certified Vet Tech Dawn joined the staff in September of 2004. She graduated from Madison Area Technical College in 2000 with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. After working at a local Emergency Clinic for two years, she found her home here at Hartland Animal Hospital. Dawn enjoys Client Education and Senior Care. She and her husband share their home with Gus, a seventeen toed cat, Nutmeg, a heartworm positive cat and Daniel, their Beta fish. |

Scott Veterinary Assistant Scott, an aspiring future Veterinarian, first came to the clinic through the Explorer Program. Intrigued by his first shadowing experience, he asked to return for a second. In Dec of 2002 he was then hired on to work on Saturdays during school months, and to fill in for vacations in the summer. He is currently attending UW Whitewater to obtain his Bachelors Degree in Biology and plans to move on to Veterinary School. When he is not studying, you can find Scott enjoying sports, bowling or just relaxing with his dog and three cats. |

Matt Veterinary Assistant Also an aspiring future Veterinarian, Matt started working at the clinic in August of 2004 doing kennel cleaning and maintenance. After a few months of the "dirty work", he was promoted to Veterinary Assistant. Matt is attending UW Milwaukee majoring in Bio-Science with a minor in Chemistry. He also plans to move on to Veterinary School by the fall of 2009. At home Matt cares for three dogs, Trixie, Rocky, and Ted-E and his newly adopted cat Oreo. |

Amy Veterinary Assitant Amy joined the clinic Sept 2008. Her first job was working in a riding stable. She grew up in a house full of different types of animals. She and her family have owned everything from mice to birds, lizards, horses, and dogs. Amy holds a second job working as a vet tech at the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control. She hopes to become a Certified Veterinary Technician in the very near future. |

Julie Receptionist Julie joined the clinic in August 2007 after deciding that her career in the food industry was not her passion. After getting married in July of 2007, she decided to go back to her roots and find employment with what she considered completely satifying-working with people and their pets. When she is not working, she finds it therapeutic spending time with her "boys"-her cat Trooper, dog "Lambeau (and of course her husband!) She loves vacationing up North, watching the Brewers and Packers, and most of all-spending time with family. |

Helena Receptionist Helena joined the staff in February 2008. After owning and operating her own greek pastry business for 13 years, she felt the need for a career change. With her love for working with people and pets, this has been an exciting experience for her. Helena shares her home with only her husband at this time now that her children are grown. She shares her yard with many turkey, deer and other wildlife. Helena enjoys gardening, church activities, and fishing with husband in her spare time. |
